MALTA RESIDENCY AND VISA PROGRAMME

The Malta Residence and Visa Programme (MRVP) was launched in 2015. It provides successful applicants with the right of permanent residence in Malta or indefinite leave of stay, subject to an ongoing fulfilment of the relevant requirements.

MRVP provides international investors with residency rights. These rights will apply only for non-EU / EEA / Swiss Nationals. The programme has no minimum or maximum stay requirement

BENEFITS OF MRVP

The beneficiary and their respective dependents would be entitled to:

  • Reside indefinitely in Malta;

  • Visa-free travel throughout the Schengen Area.

  • Access to top-tier British Education System.

  • Access to 5th best Healthcare System (WHO ranking).

  • A Beneficiary may also qualify for the status of long term residence where the requirements in terms of the Long Term Residence regulations are subsequently met.

INVESTMENT REQUIRMENT

  • An investment of €250,000 in qualifying investments as may be periodically determined by Identity Malta (e.g. Government bonds, which can be done through financing options )
  • A qualifying property. Buy property worth minimum €320,000 for a property situated in the North of Malta or €270,000 for a property situated in Gozo or the South of Malta; or Rent a property worth minimum €12,000 per annum for a property situated in the North of Malta or €10,000 for a property situated in Gozo or in the South of Malta
  • €30,000 one time Government Contribution
  • Economically stable, i.e. must have an annual income of at least €100,000 per annum, arising outside Malta, or be in possession of capital of not less than €500,000
  • Is not a national of Malta or any other EU/EEA state
  • Holds a comprehensive health insurance covering himself and all dependants for all risks across the whole of the EU
  • Is in good health and not suffering from any contagious disease
  • Is of good character
